Standard Yarn Weight & Yardage Reference Guide
Every yarn weight produces different fabric density and uses yardage at different rates. Use this official reference chart to cross-check your project estimates.

Why Does Stitch Texture Change Yardage So Much?
Basic chain and mesh stitches leave wide gaps, consuming significantly less yarn than solid stitches. Conversely, textured stitches like waffle stitch, popcorns, bobbles, and cables use 20% to 35% more yarn because stitches are layered or clustered into dense dimensional fabric.
Always Check Your Dye Lot Numbers
When buying yarn, always purchase all required skeins at the same time and confirm the dye lot numbers on the paper labels match. Yarns from different dye lots can show subtle color demarcation lines in your finished blanket.
